Bank of the Philippine Islands said some online and mobile transactions were temporarily unavailable as the channels adjust to a recent upgrade.
The Ayala-led lender posted the advisory late Wednesday on its official Facebook page. As of Thursday morning, irate clients were still posting comments, complaining that they were unable to withdraw money.
A spokeswoman for BPI did not immediately return an inquiry from ABS-CBN News seeking comment. The Facebook post did not say when normal services would resume but said the bank was "working hard to restore these services as soon as possible."
A balance inquiry at an ATM failed with a "LINE DOWN" message on the receipt. A notice on the mobile app said the service was "currently undergoing maintenance."
"Please bear with us as our channels adjust to the newly upgraded system. As a result, some financial transactions using our online and mobile banking platforms are temporarily unavailable," BPI said.
Transactions can be made on ATMs and cash accept machines, it said.
BPI's digital services were down for 3 days from Friday to give way to a systems upgrade.
