University of Sto. Tomas rode a big wave in the third quarter to take down Far Eastern University, 82-74, Sunday at Ynares Center here and drive back inside the winners’ circle in the UAAP 82 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Down five at halftime, the Growling Tigers scored seven unanswered points to open the third quarter for their first lead of the game, 41-39.
And after the Tamaraws charged back to retake a 49-48 edge, Sherwin Concepcion erupted for four triples in a row in a 19-6 surge that put UST ahead, 67-55, early in the final frame.
Both the lead and the momentum would remain with them until the final buzzer.
