Adamson University goes all-out to rule the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Collegiate Conference on Saturday in Game 2 of the Finals against University of Sto. Tomas at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Drawing first blood in the best-of-three series, the rookie-laden Lady Falcons have a chance to pocket their first major tournament crown in nine years in the scheduled 11:00 a.m. duel.
The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
Prized recruit Louie Romero starred in Adamson’s 23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 15-11, win Wednesday as she tallied 33 excellent sets and effectively distributed the offense as four Lady Falcons scored in double figures led by league-leading scorer Trisha Genesis.
Helping Romero and Genesis out are Ceasa Pinar and rookies Lucille Almonte and Lorene Toring, who had seven kill blocks in Game 1, as Adamson seeks to capture its first major title after winning it all in the second conference of the defunct V-League in 2010.
But the Tigresses are looking to write a different story.
Sisters EJ and Eya Laure, rookie Imee Hernandez, Janna Tores and Kecelyn Galdones will lead UST’s charge to force a rubber match on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University sets its sights on salvaging a bronze medal at 9:00 a.m. against College of St. Benilde.
The Lady Eagles outlasted the Lady Blazers, 22-25, 25-16, 22-25, 26-24, 15-11.
Game 3, if necessary, is on Wednesday.
In case CSB takes Game 2 and the Finals ended in just two games, the third place winner between the Lady Eagles and Lady Blazers will be decided via tiebreak.
