San Beda University completed the Final Four cast of the NCAA Season 95 women’s volleyball competition after taking down Mapua University in straight sets, 25-19, 25-17, 25-19, on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Nieza Viray starred in the Lady Red Spikers all-important sixth win in eight outings to join unbeaten College of St. Benilde (7-0), three-time defending champion Arellano University (6-1) and University of Perpetual Help (6-2).

The hitter pounded 12 attacks, three aces and a pair of kill blocks for 17 points and added 12 digs for San Beda, which also bolstered its chances of landing twice-to-beat advantage.

Cesca Racraquin scored all of her 12 points off attacks and had three excellent receptions for the Lady Red Spikers while Kim Manzano posted 11 markers.

“At least na-secure na namin 'yung Final Four so kailangan namin mas maging hungrier pa kasi papalapit na 'yung semis eh,” said San Beda coach Nemesio Gavina, whose wards scored their second straight victory. “Mas maganda kasi nakikita ko 'yung mga bata talagang napupursigi so maganda sa amin 'yun. 'Yung morale nila mataas tapos 'yung maturity sa game nandiyan.”

The Lady Cardinals absorbed their seventh defeat in eight games. Jonina Fernandez and Loraine Barias paced Mapua with seven points each.

Meanwhile, San Sebastian College beat Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16, to improve to a 2-6 card

The Stags fall to a 1-7 mark.
