Over the past year since the impromptu “love story” between Vice Ganda and Jackque Gonzaga started unfolding on “It’s Showtime,” it has evolved to include a third party who divides the comedian’s attention, to comedic effect.
That third party, “Kuya Escort” Ion Perez, is the other subject of Vice Ganda’s affection in the unpredictable story that takes place during the noontime program’s “Miss Q&A” segment.
But in a twist in the Friday episode of the show, Perez and Gonzaga went from being rivals in romance to the suspected halves of a new, forming romance — at least according to Vice Ganda.
The suspicion arose after Vice Ganda noticed Gonzaga's and Perez’s hair were respectively disheveled, prompting a confrontation with each of them.
What followed was an unexpected exchange that had both Vice Ganda and Gonzaga in tears, and the “madlang pipol” cheering with pleasant surprise at the latter’s talent in acting.
The official YouTube and Facebook uploads of that moment have totaled nearly 2 million views over the weekend, with many comments similarly applauding Gonzaga’s tearful and guilt-inducing reaction to Vice Ganda’s accusation.
“Bakit ganu’n?” wrote fan Beybii Siano. “Natatawa ako na naluluha!”
“Naiyak ako sa ‘yo Ate Girl,” said Emma Tugalon. “Galing, sobra, bigyan ng break ‘yan!”
“Pinaiyak ako ni Jackque tapos pinatawa rin ako noong yumakap siya kay Vice at nag-make face kay Ion!” added user Bedo. “Puwede na si Jackque pang drama at comedy!”
Both Gonzaga and Perez have credited Vice Ganda for changing their lives since the comedian shared the spotlight with them on “It’s Showtime.” They’re each gearing up for further showbiz projects, thanks to their exposure on the widely watched noontime program.
