Malacañang on Sunday denied reports that President Rodrigo Duterte is in Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan for a medical condition.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in a text message told members of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC) that the information was not true.

Social media users had been posting that Duterte had been confined at the hospital since Friday and that the medical center was under tight security.

Former Presidential Aide Christopher “Bong” Go also denied the information as well, promising to send proof that the President is well.

Malacanang however could not disclose whether the President is still in Manila or has already flown back to Davao.

“I hope you understand that due to security protocols, we can not divulge the President’s location. However, we can assure you, that the President is well and good,” Presidential Security Group Spokesperson, Captain Zeerah Blanche Lucrecia told the MPC in a text message.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo also denied the reports.

"The President is in his residence at the Palace signing papers. I just talked to him, he is neither confirming nor denying that he went to the hospital," Panelo said.
