Petron took advantage of the weakened arsenal of F2 Logistics, wrapping up the marquee match in straight-set fashion, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18, in the 2019 PSL Invitational Cup, Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Behind the hard-hitting duo of Sisi Rondina and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, the Blaze Spikers seized command in all of the sets. They also took advantage of the absence of Kalei Mau, who had to sit out due to a skin allergy.
Rondina powered 17 points built on 15 attacks, as Maizo-Pontillas scattered 12 hits, and a pair of kill blocks and service aces in the morale-boosting sweep.
Petron has tied Generika-Ayala for an early leadership in Pool B with identical 1-0 cards.
Petron seeks to sustain its hot start when it faces Generika-Ayala, while F2 Logistics tries to crack into the win column against Marinerang Pilipina. Both matches will be played on Monday, September 30, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
