Meralco turned its highly-anticipated showdown against Barangay Ginebra into a blowout.

The Bolts were sensational for a second straight week, dominating the Gin Kings for a 101-77 win in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Big Dome.

A week after Meralco demolished San Miguel Beer by 26 points, the Bolts issued a 24-point beatdown to Ginebra, taking over solo third place in the team standings with a 6-2 mark, a full game back for first place.

The Bolts led by as many as 28 points, controlling the game right from the start.

Former two-time Best Import Allen Durham showed up, finishing with 39 points on top of 12 rebounds and seven assists.

Rookie Bong Quinto led the local attack for Meralco, scoring 13 points. Chris Newsome and Raymond Almazan added 11 andd 10 points respectively.

Ginebra’s four-game run ended with the loss and the Gin Kings dropped to 5-3, tied with idle San Miguel in the standings.

Justin Brownlee was the high man for Ginebra with 18 points. LA Tenorio added 12 points for the Gin Kings.
