Barangay Ginebra gets a new crown.

The Gin Kings have regained the PBA Governors' Cup title, once again asserting their mastery of Meralco for a 105-93 Game 5 victory Friday at the MOA Arena.

Ginebra won three straight games in these Finals to win the series, 4-1. It's the Gin Kings' third Governors' Cup title in four seasons.

All three came at the expense of Meralco. Ginebra won in six games in 2016 and in seven games in 2017.

Meralco came out strong in Game 5, as expected. The Bolts even led by as many as 14 points in the first half behind Allen Durham and Baser Amer.

But the Gin Kings once again dominated the third, with Justin Brownlee leading the attack despite nursing four fouls.

Come the fourth, Ginebra turned to Japeth Aguilar and Stanley Pringle to finish off Meralco.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Gin Kings led by Japeth Aguilar with 25 points and eight rebounds.

Brownlee added 24 points and 10 assists while Pringle was good for 17 points. Scottie Thompson and LA Tenorio dropped 14 and 12 points respectively for good measure.

The Bolts got 29 points, 21rebounds, and eight assists from Durham but their season ends with another Finals loss to Ginebra.

Meralco is now 0-3 in the PBA Finals, all at the hands of the Gin Kings.

Baser Amer was the top local for the Bolts with 17 points.
